Made To Measure Curtains, Blinds & Accessories Back to top

How do you make Roman Blinds?

All our Roman Blinds are hand stitched where necessary by our experienced workroom; we begin by making pockets for rods to pass through to ensure your blind has a waterfall effect. The top of the blind will have a strip of Velcro that attaches to the head rail. All blinds come with all the necessary fixtures and fittings you require and are fully assembled for you to attach to the supplied brackets.

How do you make your Curtains?

All our curtains are hand finished by our experience seamstresses in our very own workroom. Attention to detail is second to none and they are complete with mitred corners with seams pressed flat to ensure they hang perfectly once in your home. We always use the finest linings and the highest quality fixtures to ensure that they look full and superior in your windows.

How do you make Cushions?

Our cushions are all individually made with high quality piping (if you wish) and a high quality zip to ensure there is no jamming.

What sort of linings do you use?

We offer the highest quality linings, our most popular is a premium poly cotton sateen, followed by a 100% cotton sateen. For bedrooms we recommend blackout lining (perfect for bedrooms) and thermal for added warmth. If you are unsure, please contact us on for further information we will be happy to help.

What is a pattern match?

A pattern match is the way in which the pattern matches to the next piece of fabric. When you have multiple widths/pairs the pattern will be matched across each pair. The pattern maybe matched at the top or the bottom dependant on which way we consider to be the most suitable. If you require the pattern to be matched specifically to either the top or the bottom please state this on your order.

What is a Rub Test/ Martindale test?

There are various fabrics that are intended for upholstery that are stated on the website. These will have had to undergo a Martindale Test or Rub Test that involves the fabric being placed on a rig and rubbed mechanically until the threads in the fabric break. If you are unsure if the fabric is suitable for your needs, please don’t hesitate to contact us prior to purchasing we will be happy to help.

Is my fabric suitable for upholstery?

All fabric that is suitable for upholstery is stated on the website, these can be occasional use for example covering a bedroom chair or general upholstery which is suitable for a sofa or an arm chair. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to contact us prior to purchasing.

Curtain Care Back to top

Can I put my Curtains through the wash?

We strongly recommend not washing your curtains or blinds even if it states they are washable. Washing them can cause colour discolouration and shrinkage. We would recommend vacuum cleaning while they are up, employ a specialist or to take to a dry cleaner that specialises in cleaning curtains and blinds. We accept no responsibility for the results when you choose to wash.

Will my fabric fade?

Certain fabrics will fade over time, especially if exposed to direct sunlight. The fabrics that are more prone to fading are silks and darker colours. We accept no liability for fabrics that have faded once delivered to you.
