Always measure in centimetres and use a metal tape measure.
Install your track or pole before taking the measurements.
The track or pole should extend beyond the window at either side, to allow room for the curtains to be drawn back off the window.
Measure the track or pole. NOT the window itself. For tracks: measure the width from end to end.
If the track overlaps in the middle you must include the overlap.
For poles: measure the width between the decorative finials
For tracks: Measure from the top of the track to allow it to be hidden by the curtains. Maximum depth of track is 3.5cm from top of track to allow it to be hidden by the curtains.
Maximum depth of the track is 3.5cm from top of the track to bottom of the glider.
For poles: Measure from the underside of the curtain ring to allow the pole to be seen above the curtains.
For eyelet curtains: Measure from the top of the pole and add 3cm.
For our Pencil Pleat Heading: The top of our pencil pleat curtain is fixed at a height of 3.5cm above the hook position. Measure from the eyes of the rings/gliders to your required bottom hem position, this is the hook drop*. Now add to this 3.5cm (1 3/8”), this gives your finished length.
For all other Headings: Firstly, decide on the height that you would like the top of the curtains to finish. For tracks, we suggest aligning the top of the curtain with the top of the track. For poles, the curtain could be level with the top, centre, or bottom of the pole. Measure from the required curtain top position to your required bottom hem position, this is your finished length.
3. Measure from the correct point to: 1cm above the sill for SILL length; the desired length for BELOW-SILL length; 1cm above the floor for FULL length.
